Airline Passengers Sue Southwest Over Mysterious Chemical

Two women filed a lawsuit against Southwest Airlines alleging that they were exposed to some type of chemical aboard a flight from Los Angeles to Nashville.

According to the lawsuit, the passengers on the plane experienced oxygen deprivation and the flight was diverted to Albuquerque.

Once aware of the oxygen problem, the pilot engaged the engines and began a steep ascent. This caused hot air to come out of the ventilation system.

As a result, the women claim they now suffer from serious health problems, including impairment of their motor skills, loss of balance, vision impairment and constant shaking.

Family Files Lawsuit Over Crash of Continental Flight 3407

Another in a list of lawsuits was filed arising out of the crash of Continental Flight 3407. Flight 3407 went down on February 12 killing 50 people and landing on a house. Federal investigators have found that ice buildup on the wings is responsible for the plane going down.

The lawsuit claims that the airline, among others, was negligent by not installing a “low-airspeed alert system.” The system is supposed to warn pilots when the plain is flying too slow.

The lawsuit alleges that had such a system been in place the crash would not have occurred. Specifically, the suit claims that the lack of a low airspeed alert system, was just on in a long line of a “serious failures.”
